Preventive measures such as “tummy time” and physiotherapy are described, and the role of orthoses, osteopathy, and surgery in treatment is closely examined. Positional plagiocephaly is not only a "cosmetic" problem but can cause facial and mandibular asymmetry, visual disturbances, and cognitive and psychomotor impairment, yet when correctly treated it usually resolves by 6-7 years of age.
