|a This book reviews the promising new electrocardiographic (ECG) predictors of cardiac morbidity and mortality with the primary objective being to evaluate gender differences in special ECG features and in ECG predictors for the risk of adverse cardiac events and to explore mechanisms for gender differences in risk predictors. The Female Electrocardiogram elucidates the emergence of gender differences in ECG features and evaluates repolarization-related ECG predictors of various clinical disease categories with a special scope to interpret the mechanism and gender differences of the findings. The author examines how the predictors of adverse cardiac events are linked to basic electrophysiological finding whenever adequate information is available in this rapidly advances realm of research. The overall goal of the book is to facilitate understanding of the mechanisms and clinical relevance of repolarization abnormalities in both clinical and epidemiological applications, and as such will be of great interest to all who manage patients using ECG whether they be cardiac electrophysiologists, clinical cardiologists, critical care physicians or any medical professional in the disciplines covered.
