The study explores the expansion of higher education in Africa and its impact on development, modernization and the economy to situate Africa within global debates on higher education governance and investment. Using concrete indicators from economic, social and political domains, the book demystifies dominant narratives which giant institutions have applied to disunite the relationship between universities and growth on the continent. Pedro Uetela is CAPES fellow scholar and a former student from the Universities of Sydney, Australia and Oslo, Norway. He has worked as an assistant researcher at Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique.
