Περίληψη:Yulia Levakhina gives an introduction to the major challenges of image reconstruction in Digital Tomosynthesis (DT), particularly to the connection of the reconstruction problem with the incompleteness of the DT dataset. The author discusses the factors which cause the formation of limited angle artifacts and proposes how to account for them in order to improve image quality and axial resolution of modern DT. The addressed methods include a weighted non-linear backprojection scheme for algebraic reconstruction and a novel dual-axis acquisition geometry. All discussed algorithms and methods are supplemented by detailed illustrations, hints for practical implementation, pseudo-code, simulation results and real patient case examples.  Contents Forward and Backprojection Model Iterative Image Reconstruction for Tomosynthesis Backprojected Space in Image Reconstruction Dual-Axis Tilt Acquisition Geometry  Target Groups Academics and practitioners in the fields of computer science, X-ray imaging, computed tomography, tomosynthesis, iterative image reconstruction and medical imaging; radiologists and physicians.  The Author Yulia Levakhina earned her doctoral degree at the Institute of Medical Engineering, University of Lübeck, under the supervision of Prof. Thorsten M. Buzug. She works at a leading innovator company among CT manufacturers, where she is responsible for the research and development of image reconstruction algorithms for high-performance and precise CT scanners.  The Editor The series Aktuelle Forschung Medizintechnik is edited by Thorsten M. Buzug.  .
