| Περίληψη: | This chapter, by using detailed statistics and tables, makes a first assessment of the implementation of the policy prescription called "internal devaluation". Developments regarding wages, employment and competitiveness are analyzed and presented in the first part of this chapter as indices of paramaount importance for an export orented recovery. Regarding competitiveness in particular, the last part of the chapter gives a detailed assessment of the growth of exports, focusing both on specific sectors and on comparisons with other countries (Portugal) where a similar or related version of the policy of "internal devaluation" has been applied.
