The personalization of space, as an idea, reforms the establishing notions, giving to them a special meaning or interpreting them in a new way. Thus each user has now an unbreakable bonding with their space. Additionally, the chapter constitutes an introduction to the «context of alternative office» and an analysis of «private office into alternative space», as well as «the possibility of personal choice and space expropriation», with references to specific cases of materialised office interiors. Στο κεφάλαιο 6 παρουσιάζονται χώροι και τρόποι υποστήριξης εναλλασσόμενων εργασιακών συνθηκών, που προσαρμόζονται σε ατομικές ανάγκες και αποκτούν κατά περίπτωση προσωπικό χαρακτήρα, ή διάρκεια. Η προσωποποίηση του χώρου στο επίπεδο των ιδεών αναδιαμορφώνει καθιερωμένες έννοιες, αποδίδοντας τους ένα ευρύτερο νόημα ή ερμηνεύοντας τις με νέους τρόπους και συνδέει τον χρήστη με μία αδιάρρηκτη σχέση με το χώρο του.
