Περίληψη: | This chapter presents the basic biomechanical characteristics of selected movements or skills from various individual sports. These include the sprint hurdles, the long jump, the high jump, the tennis serve, the giant circle in gymnastics and the swimming stroke. For each of these techniques, the basic kinematic, kinetic and electromyographic characteristics are presented with an emphasis on the determinants of performance. Finally, methodological considerations for the biomechanical analysis of each movement are discussed.
