The connection to phenomenology is bridged through a statistical relation of the entropy. The method produces directly the statistical expressions depending on the equilibrium state variables. Παρουσιάζεται η μέθοδος ανάπτυξης της στατιστικής μηχανικής και του γενικού τρόπου με τον οποίο αναπαράγονται τα θερμοδυναμικά πειραματικά αποτελέσματα με βάση τις διαμοριακές αλληλεπιδράσεις. Στο βιβλίο αυτό θα θεωρηθεί δεδομένη η θεωρία της θερμοδυναμικής και δεν θα γίνει προσπάθεια απόδειξής της, αλλά με βάση την θεωρία και ένα βασικό στατιστικό νόμο γιά την εντροπία θα παραχθούν οι στατιστικές σχέσεις που οδηγούν στην θεροδυναμική. Η μέθοδος παράγει απ'ευθείας τις σχέσεις της θεωρίας των στατιστικών συνόλων ανάλογα με τις μεταβλητές που καθορίζουν τις μακροσκοπικές καταστάσεις των συστήματων.
