Περίληψη:Information Technology drives innovation and innovation is the path to business success. Nowadays, almost all the companies invest in their IT departments in order to support their daily operations. The underlying infrastructure is an integral part for the continuity of their business processes. The concept of IT Infrastructure Monitoring (ITIM) refers to the observation, analysis, and presentation of real-time information for the IT infrastructure components that reside in a data center or are hosted in the cloud as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). There are tools that monitor and collate the availability and resource utilization metrics of various IT enterprise components such as servers, networks, database instances, applications and operating systems. Identifying and preventing issues is a key success factor. The subject studied in this thesis is the need of effectively monitoring the performance and availability of heterogeneous IT infrastructures in order to ensure normal operation of the enterprise business processes. The research focuses in a case study were the basic features of an agentless monitoring solution (HPE SiteScope) are presented via the installation and configuration in a virtual IT environment.
