Description
Summary:In this dissertation, we examine the relationship between household income and consumption of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. We use data from the national statistical service of Greece, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (EL.STAT.), collecting observations from 2008 to 2018. We mainly focus on how gender, age, education, occupation, unemployment, marital status, the Great Recession, and household region affect consumption and total expenditure of household members. Additionally, we examine where they tend to spend their household income and how that affects the family budget. The empirical analysis is carried out through regression.
