Περίληψη: | Online labor markets are a trend on 2021 economy and crowd-sourcing is at the
heart. Crowd-sourcing is the process by which a company or organization assigns a task that traditionally performed by the same company or organization to
an unknown crowd of people. Because of the big heterogeneity of characteristics
of workers in such online labor environments have been observed differences in
the total work quality of Workers. This dissertation aims to determine how the
cognitive skills of individuals as well as their demographic details affects the total
performance of Workers in Crowd-sourcing environments. It is a complementary research to the dissertation of Charis Mourelatos, entitled:"The influence of aspects
of the individual’s personality in the performance of his work in online environments Work: A Study in its population environment Amazon Mechanical Turk"
(Mourelatos, Ch., Tzagkarakis, M., 2019.) Using data from a labor experiment
that took place in Amazon Mechanical Turk, the analysis conclude that only age
of Worker affects the total performance of his Work, while Educational level of
worker, gender as well as his/hers ethnicity do not affect the quality of his/hers
work. Also, in this dissertation is presented a comparison between the cognitive
skills and demographics of individual that affect the quality of work on online labor environments and those that influence the quality of work on traditional labor
markets.
