Hybrid Manufacturing is expected to be incorporated to the main production line, providing major benefits in terms of quality, flexibility and performance within an interconnected environment. This study focuses on the implementation of a tool path planning framework for Hybrid Manufacturing using point cloud data within the context of automation. The entire framework is being distinguished into four phases, namely the data preparation, extraction of the disparity map, the detection of the contours of the subtracted region of the scanned model and, finally, the generation of the tool path using a conditional offsetting method. The entire strategy is considered to be applicable to Additive and Subtractive Hybrid Manufacturing processes.
