By using panel data , we estimate fixed effects regressions with the method of local projections introduced by Jordà (2005) and test how globalization affects core inflation , the harmonized consumer price index of services as well as non-energy industrial goods. We test the globalization hypothesis on twenty seven European countries and nineteen Eurozone area countries separately. We find evidence that globalization can moderate the increase in inflation after a widening of the output gap and a rise in inflation expectations in European countries. Σκοπός αυτής της εργασίας είναι η έρευνα της επίδρασης της παγκοσμιοποίησης στον πληθωρισμό. Χρησιμοποιώντας πάνελ δεδομένα , εκτιμούμε παλινδρομήσεις σταθερής επίδρασης (fixed effects) με την μέθοδο της «παλμικής» απόκρισης ( impulse responses) που εισήχθη από τον Jordà (2005). Με την μέθοδο αυτή , εξετάζουμε την επίδραση της παγκοσμιοποίησης στον συνολικό πληθωρισμό , στον «πυρήνα» του πληθωρισμού (core inflation) , καθώς και στον εναρμονισμένο δείκτη τιμών καταναλωτή των υπηρεσιών καθώς και των μη ενεργειακών βιομηχανικών αγαθών. Ελέγχουμε την επίπτωση της παγκοσμιοποίησης σε είκοσι επτά Ευρωπαϊκές χώρες και δεκαεννιά χώρες της Ευρωζώνης ξεχωριστά.
