Περίληψη:In this survey we present the architecture, techniques and technologies that shape the main pillars of 6G network, focusing on the interaction between the different technologies to create new services for the humanity. We begin with a brief introduction to point the main drivers of 6G, together with a first flavor of societal issues and objectives which can consist of the future research directions of scientific projects of the research community. In section 2 we present, the highly cited and most popular related work with emphasis on individual aspects and surveys from academia. White papers of industry, standardization parties, country initiatives projects and timeline also presented. In section 3 a fulfilling attempt was made to present the overall illustration 6G network’s technology interaction. So firstly, we present all the evolutionary existing technologies and secondly the revolutionary such as integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial and integration of sensing and communication giving and the design of a Free-Space Energy Efficient Photonic Switching System for communication & sensing. Also, we present the AI role on physical, network and data layer. We highlight the federated learning. We discuss the computation process, presenting the evolution from cloud to edge and highlighting the over the air computation and wireless cognition concept. Also, we propose the CCU (communication and computation unit). The fixed 6G network is critical to transform the overall system’s performance and for this reason we propose various directions and solutions which can aid to underpin the F6G services in a cost and energy efficient way. In section 4 our goal is to go deeper in architectural issues, virtualization evolution of 6G core and access, giving emphasis to sustainable infrastructure and network digital twinning. In section 5 the trust and security issues presented in several wireless and optical domain. In section 6 the majority of under discussion 6G use cases, together with specific requirements and our standardization effort on services definition discussed. From this section our goal is to show off special issues on specific use cases such as XR and metaverse related with theirs commercially implementation. In conclusion we highlight undiscovered research areas in an effort to contribute to the completion of 6G vision.
