Study of affinities of carbohydrate and protein metabolites towards a diboronate probe

Diboronates are proven to bind to 1,2-cis diol group containing molecules and they are currently used in some commercial glucose biosensors. Herein, we report a study of affinities of various carbohydrates and protein metabolites towards a diboronate probe. The proposed method based on fluorescen...

Herein, we report a study of affinities of various carbohydrates and protein metabolites towards a diboronate probe. The proposed method based on fluorescence could be used for L-Glucose detection and/or quantification, where there is no known method yet. We also examined interference by albumin in case that the method is used in real blood samples, where we got some really encouraging results. It seems that our probe could also be used in competitive assays between albumin and other molecules to obtain the Kd value between them, something really useful in drug discovery and early development, whereas screening of thousands of compounds is substantial and cannot be supported by complicated experiments. The fastness, feasibility and reliability of fluorescence spectroscopy as well as polarization is highlighted in the present thesis. 2022-11-15T08:19:41Z 2022-11-15T08:19:41Z 2022-03-25 https://hdl.handle.net/10889/23960 en_US application/pdf
