Περίληψη:Transportation can be described as a way of moving people, goods, and animals from one place to another. Transport has always been a very important factor in the development of all countries. Therefore, the transportation and modern means of transportationareof great importance. Part of the development of scale industries is due to some of the best transportation facilities in the world. Thanks to efficient infrastructure and transportation, large quantities of raw materials can be purchased inexpensively from remote locations, thus, enhancing mass production, creating new markets and expanding existing ones. The coronavirus pandemic has had a great impact on society, both socially and economically. Transport industries were also significantly affected, but this effect has not been sufficiently investigatedby the literature in a quantitative and empirical way. The present thesis analyzes the impact of the coronavirus on the transport sector, and more specifically, on aviation, shipping, railway, as well as road transport, reflecting the most important variables of transportation for Europe, thus contributing to the literature, in this way. The conclusion of this thesis highlights an important impact of the coronavirus pandemic for many countries and regions of Europe, regarding the aviation, shipping, railway and road transport sectors.
