Περίληψη: | Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) has emerged as a multidisciplinary field aiming to improve the collaboration and communication between humans and robots. This thesis describes the setup and troubleshooting process to achieve the interaction with the robot Summit-XL, made by Robotniks. Firstly, an introduction to Human-Robot Interaction is presented, examining the various applications and research fields involved. The classification of robots and their usage is also portrayed to showcase how robots have evolved. A detailed analysis and presentation of this particular robot’s specifications and abilities is depicted along with a set of software libraries and tools called Robot Operating System (ROS) which enable the user to engage with the robot and perform the desired actions. The process of achieving the interaction with the Summit-XL is then analyzed by a detailed description of each step taken to enable the robot’s functionality and an installation of a ROS distribution to achieve connection and management of the robot via a remote personal computer. Lastly, various use cases and tutorials are logged to aid future users in executing certain use case scenarios seamlessly with the robot. |
