Tomato brown wrinkle virus (ToBRFV) is a newly discovered, highly transmissible and destructive virus with tomato as its primary host. Within just a few years of its discovery in Israel and Jordan, the virus spread to many countries around the world. The present paper is in the form of a literature review on the tomato brown fruit wrinkle virus (ToBRFV). For the needs of completing the work, a search was made for relevant studies in the Google Scholar online database. Currently, there are no chemicals that can be used to treat plants infected with ToBRFV and no resistant cultivars are commercially available. ToBRFV is transmitted to non-infected areas through infected seeds, and the use of tomato seeds collected from healthy mother plants is highly recommended. Disinfectant treatment of seeds has been suggested as a preventive measure against ToBRFV. Proper management must cover all aspects of plant growth involved in the spread of the virus. Biosecurity measures such as decontamination of contaminated soil from previous cropping cycles, trellis ropes and greenhouse structures, as well as prevention of the threat of worker transmission are important. If all these conditions are carefully considered, the chances of ToBRFV occurrence will be limited and significantly controlled.
