The difficulty in this task lies in the similarity of their chemical and crystal structure. For the identification three spectroscopic techniques were applied: Raman spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). Based on careful examination of the spectra, three approaches are proposed depending on instrument availability.
