Description
Summary:Our research focuses on the inquiry approaches implemented in the classroom by French schoolchildren and more particularly on the articulation of these approaches with the other knowledge components of the disciplinary structure in the sciences of life and the Earth. This paper presents through an example some of the elements of our research method which is based on descriptive and sequential mixed method design. Three types of instrumentation are used to collect the data : a questionnaire, semi-directed interviews and observations of class sessions. The data obtained are processed and analyzed either using statistical tools or from a thematic categorization of sense units.
