Using social constructivism theory, it provides a comparative assessment of Germany's post-reunification relations with the Czech Republic and Poland within the framework of the contemporary alliance structure. Identifying the key actors and factors, Cordell and Wolff examine the long-standing continuity in the norms and values that underpin German foreign policy and explore the issues of borders, territory, identities, minorities and population transfers. Paying particular attention to the process of European integration and the role of the new Germany within Europe, the authors identify how new possibilities for co-operation might finally overcome legacies of the past. This pioneering study will be of particular interest to students of European politics and international studies. 2019-11-21 14:21:00 2020-04-01T09:51:13Z 2020-04-01T09:51:13Z 2005 book 1005890 OCN: 1135849054 9780415369749;9780415499576;9781134201365;9781134201358;9781134201310 http://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/24241 eng Routledge Advances in European Politics application/pdf Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International 1005890.pdf https://www.taylorfrancis.com/books/e/9781134201365 Taylor & Francis 10.4324/9780203489192 10.4324/9780203489192 7b3c7b10-5b1e-40b3-860e-c6dd5197f0bb 9780415369749;9780415499576;9781134201365;9781134201358;9781134201310 open access
