What impact will religion have on the European secular world and its regulation? How do social and economic transitions on a transnational scale challenge ethnic and religious identifications? These questions are at the very heart of the debate on multiculturalism in present-day Europe. Through the lens of post-migrant societies, manifestations of identity appear in pluralized and deterritorialized forms. This calls into question the nature of boundaries between, as well as within various ethnic-religious groups. Although the contributions in this volume focus on Islam, attention is also paid to Christianity, Judaism, and Hinduism. The authors present empirical data from cases in Turkey, Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Poland, Norway, Sweden and Belgium, and sharpen the perspectives on the religious-ethnic manifestations of identity in 21st-century Europe. 2019-02-01 23:55 2020-01-23 03:00:27 2020-04-01T10:55:48Z 2020-04-01T10:55:48Z 2014-01-30 book 1004123 OCN: 1100539970 9789058679819 http://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/25960 eng Current Issues in Islam application/pdf n/a 1004123.pdf http://upers.kuleuven.be/en/book/9789058679819 Leuven University Press 10.11116/NMIE_CII 102270 10.11116/NMIE_CII 91436d3b-fb9a-45e9-8a57-08708b92dcda b818ba9d-2dd9-4fd7-a364-7f305aef7ee9 9789058679819 Knowledge Unlatched (KU) 102270 KU Select 2018: HSS Backlist Books Knowledge Unlatched open access
