In the foreground next to the comparative aspect is the question of the constructedness or even the lewdness of the two reincarnation processes. To evaluate the constructive character of cultural inventions or innovations, the author develops the concept of successful or unsuccessful cultural lies. By means of this distinction, she succeeds in classifying the respective national self-description models in terms of their functionality and attractiveness Ausgehend von der Tatsache, dass es sich bei Nationen nicht um natürliche Gegebenheiten sondern um konstruierte Gemeinschaften handelt, werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit die Nationsbildungsprozesse der im 19.Jahrhundert wiedererweckten Kroaten und Tschechen literaturwissenschaftlich und kultursemiotisch untersucht. Im Vordergrund steht dabei neben dem Vergleichsaspekt die Frage der Konstruiertheit oder gar Lügenhaftigkeit der beiden Wiedergeburtsprozesse. Zur Beurteilung des Konstruktionscharakters kultureller Erfindungen oder Neuerungen entwickelt die Verfasserin das Konzept der erfolgreichen beziehungsweise erfolglosen kulturellen Lüge.
