The reader gains access to different countries and to a wide variety of poetic practices at the same time. And above all else, they get to know wonderful, little-known poems. Moderne Nederlandstalige poëzie over het buitenland verkent de moderne reispoëzie, een genre dat tot dusver nauwelijks aandacht kreeg. Dit boek gaat in op de poëtische reisverslagen van Nederlandstalige dichters, die variëren van een toeristische ansichtkaart tot een diepgaande verkenning van de ander en het andere, waarbij het steeds gaat om een confrontatie met de eigen identiteit, het eigen verleden en het eigen dichterschap. De lezers krijgen zo een toegang tot diverse landen en tegelijk tot sterk uiteenlopende poëtische praktijken.
