A number of authors produced commentaries based on this treatise and some were invariably influenced by it in composing their own works throughout the Byzantine era (AD 330–1453).4 My study is not exhaustive, but rather I shall select specific examples of interest from the various forms of evidence. First, I shall provide some basic introductory details on Galen’s Therapeutics to Glaucon, followed by a section on its circulation and textual transmission in Byzantium. Then, I shall go on to discuss its revival by Byzantine medical authors into two further sections; the first focuses on commentaries and the second deals with medical handbooks. 2019-10-18 14:18:56 2020-04-01T13:03:32Z 2018-02-26 23:55 2019-10-18 14:18:56 2020-04-01T13:03:32Z 2018-01-01 23:55:55 2019-10-18 14:18:56 2020-04-01T13:03:32Z 2020-04-01T13:03:32Z 2018 chapter 644574 OCN: 1030819734 9781351205276 http://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/30633 eng application/pdf n/a 644574.pdf Taylor & Francis Greek Medical Literature and its Readers Routledge 7b3c7b10-5b1e-40b3-860e-c6dd5197f0bb d6ec0982-bde9-4dab-a0d0-576f20934bc9 d859fbd3-d884-4090-a0ec-baf821c9abfd 9781351205276 Wellcome Routledge 53 1 200372/Z/15/Z Wellcome Trust Wellcome open access
