Approaching him through a single synoptic lens, this book foregrounds his unique envisioning of the interaction between humanity and the material world. By investigating the development of a single theme in his work—his idea of the “spiritualization of matter”, the “task” of humanity—Smith constructs a rounded picture of Soloviev’s overall importance to an understanding of nineteenth-century thought, as well as to modern theology and philosophy. The picture that emerges is of a writer whose contribution to a Christian philosophy of matter resonates with many of the religious debates of modernity. 2018-01-06 23:55 2017-12-01 23:55:55 2020-03-27 03:00:27 2020-04-01T13:17:03Z 2020-04-01T13:17:03Z 2010-11-01 book 641451 OCN: 864383546 9781618117007;9781618119407 http://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/30890 eng Studies in Russian and Slavic Literatures, Cultures, and History application/pdf n/a 641451.pdf https://www.academicstudiespress.com/browse-catalog/vladimir-soloviev-and-the-spiritualization-of-matter Academic Studies Press 10.2307/j.ctt1zxsjth 101826 10.2307/j.ctt1zxsjth ffe92610-fbe7-449b-a2a8-02c411701a23 b818ba9d-2dd9-4fd7-a364-7f305aef7ee9 9781618117007;9781618119407 Knowledge Unlatched (KU) Boston, MA 101826 KU Open Services Knowledge Unlatched open access |
