Japan, which was a leading competitor in the world’s manufacturing sector, tried to transform itself into an economy with domestic demand-led mature growth, but the ensuing bubbles and crisis instead made the country suffer from chronicle deflation and stagnation. The book analyses why the Japanese authorities could not avoid making choices that led to this outcome. The chapters are based on the lectures to regulators from emerging economies delivered at the Global Financial Partnership Center of the Financial Services Agency of Japan. 2021-01-13T08:56:19Z 2021-01-13T08:56:19Z 2021 book ONIX_20210113_9789811595981_3 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/46097 eng application/pdf n/a 2021_Book_TheJapaneseBankingCrisis.pdf https://www.springer.com/9789811595981 Springer Nature Palgrave Macmillan 10.1007/978-981-15-9598-1 10.1007/978-981-15-9598-1 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 Palgrave Macmillan 121 open access
