There was general agreement that the potassium recommendations currently in general use are oversimplified, outdated, and jeopardize soil, plant, and human health. Accordingly, this book puts forward a significantly expanded K cycle that more accurately depicts K inputs, losses and transformations in soils. This new cycle serves as both the conceptual basis for the scientific discussions in this book and a framework upon which to build future improvements. Previously used approaches are critically reviewed and assessed, not only for their relevance to future enhancements, but also for their use as metrics of sustainability. An initial effort is made to link K nutrition in crops and K nutrition in humans. The book offers an invaluable asset for graduate students, educators, industry scientists, data scientists, and advanced agronomists. 2021-01-13T08:57:03Z 2021-01-13T08:57:03Z 2021 book ONIX_20210113_9783030591977_24 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/46118 eng application/pdf n/a 2021_Book_ImprovingPotassiumRecommendati.pdf https://www.springer.com/9783030591977 Springer Nature Springer 10.1007/978-3-030-59197-7 10.1007/978-3-030-59197-7 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 Springer 455 open access
