It starts with an introduction to the physics of modern X-ray sources followed by a general overview of magnetism. Next, light / matter interaction in the X-ray range is covered with emphasis on different types of angular dependence of X-ray absorption spectroscopy and scattering. In the end, two domains where synchrotron radiation-based techniques led to new insights in condensed matter physics, namely spintronics and superconductivity, are discussed. The book is intended for advanced students and researchers to get acquaintance with the basic knowledge of X-ray light sources and to step into synchrotron-based techniques for magnetic studies in condensed matter physics or chemistry. 2021-04-20T12:47:19Z 2021-04-20T12:47:19Z 2021 book ONIX_20210420_9783030646233_8 9783030646233 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/48207 eng Springer Proceedings in Physics application/pdf Attribution 4.0 International 9783030646233.pdf https://www.springer.com/9783030646233 Springer Nature Springer 10.1007/978-3-030-64623-3 10.1007/978-3-030-64623-3 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 bfb636bf-e0a0-4fa6-9ed4-105e1dbfb26e 9783030646233 Springer 262 208 [grantnumber unknown] Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique National Centre for Scientific Research open access
