Over 850 Mauthausen survivors have been recorded worldwide, more than 160 of them in Poland, and over 30 by the author. The work offers an in-depth analysis of Polish survivors’ accounts, sensitive to both, form and content of these stories, as well as their social and cultural framing. The analysis is accompanied by an interpretation of (Polish) camp experiences in a broader biographical and historical perspective. The book is an interpretive journey from camp experiences, through the survivors’ memories, to narratives recalling them − and backwards. 2021-06-16T10:24:34Z 2021-06-16T10:24:34Z 2019 book ONIX_20210616_9783631769058_15 9783631769058 9783631769065 9783631769072 9783631748664 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49572 eng Studies in Contemporary History application/pdf n/a 9783631769058.pdf Peter Lang International Academic Publishers 10.3726/b14717 10.3726/b14717 e927e604-2954-4bf6-826b-d5ecb47c6555 9783631769058 9783631769065 9783631769072 9783631748664 7 442 Bern open access
