The original books were published as two pioneering technical reports by Chinese Knowledge and Information Processing group (CKIP) at Academia Sinica in 1993 and 1996, respectively. Since then, the standard and PoS tagset proposed in the CKIP report have become the de facto standard in Chinese corpora and computational linguistics, in particular in the context of traditional Chinese texts. This new translation represents and develops the principles and theories originating from these pioneering works. The results can be applied to numerous fields; Chinese syntax and semantics, lexicography, machine translation and other language engineering bound applications. 2021-09-02T10:44:46Z 2021-09-02T10:44:46Z 2017 chapter ONIX_20210902_9781138949447_4 9781138949447 9780367598372 9781315699014 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/50529 eng application/pdf Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International 9781315669014_10.4324_9781315669014-11.pdf Taylor & Francis Mandarin Chinese Words and Parts of Speech Routledge 10.4324/9781315669014-11 10.4324/9781315669014-11 7b3c7b10-5b1e-40b3-860e-c6dd5197f0bb edfbd434-f68a-491f-9119-5d61b72707bb c51ca28e-44d4-47bb-9a08-9aa8eaa8cc66 9781138949447 9780367598372 9781315699014 Routledge [grantnumber unknown] The Hong Kong Polytechnic University open access
