It is the story of citizens of the former Third Reich with Polish ethnic roots in the second half of the 1940s. The story takes place in Gdańsk-Pomerania, which was a difficult homeland for its citizens. This book depicts the consequences of Third Reich’s policies on this territory and the disastrous effects of communist policy towards the indigenous population after 1945. In parallel with exchange of population, the fortunes of the indigenous population unfolded. Based on archival sources, this work presents the fate of Pomeranians and the residents of Gdańsk who had to prove their national usefulness before they joined the post-war life. 2022-02-18T15:03:03Z 2022-02-18T15:03:03Z 2020 book ONIX_20220218_9783653071726_35 9783653071726 9783631708422 9783631708439 9783631679401 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/52979 eng Studies in History, Memory and Politics application/pdf n/a 9783653071726.pdf Peter Lang International Academic Publishers 10.3726/b16158 10.3726/b16158 e927e604-2954-4bf6-826b-d5ecb47c6555 9783653071726 9783631708422 9783631708439 9783631679401 28 292 Bern open access
