Among the products offermentations tested the best results were obtained with a medium derived from vegetable wastes. The use of a genetically modified strain of Rhodopseudomonas palustris insensitive to ammonium opened the way towards the use of wastes with attainment of high hydrogen yields also in inhibiting conditions. The experimentation carried out under natural irradiation demonstrated the full feasibility of the process using sunlight instead of artificial light in a semi-pilot reactor: the production rates were the highest so far reported for comparable outdoor systems. 2022-05-31T10:21:11Z 2022-05-31T10:21:11Z 2013 book ONIX_20220531_9788866554554_385 2612-8020 9788866554554 9788866554547 9788892734685 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/55101 eng Premio Tesi di Dottorato application/pdf n/a 9788866554554.pdf https://books.fupress.com/isbn/9788866554554 Firenze University Press 10.36253/978-88-6655-455-4 10.36253/978-88-6655-455-4 bf65d21a-78e5-4ba2-983a-dbfa90962870 9788866554554 9788866554547 9788892734685 36 134 Florence open access
