This analysis starts from the comparison between the 18 apparitions in Lourdes with some similar and contemporary episodes occurring in France, but with a somewhat different outcome, intended as success among the pilgrims. The initial historical, political and cultural contextualization work is accompanied by the analysis of some key aspects of the Catholic Church of that time. In reference to the purpose of the text, two areas are analysed more in-depth: medical science and literature, both closely connected with the question of miracles. 2022-05-31T10:26:36Z 2022-05-31T10:26:36Z 2016 book ONIX_20220531_9788864533858_604 2612-8071 9788864533858 9788864533841 9788892732605 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/55320 ita Premio Istituto Sangalli per la storia religiosa application/pdf Attribution 4.0 International 9788864533858.pdf https://books.fupress.com/isbn/9788864533858 Firenze University Press 10.36253/978-88-6453-385-8 The aim of this work is to identify the factors which contributed to create Lourdes' success.
