The article evaluates the diachronic backdrop and parameters appropriate for classificatory categories. Special attention is paid to the criteria applied by aspectologists to determine aspect pairs and to aspect triplets. The assessment ends up with a paradox resulting from Maslov’s criteria of ‘trivial pairednessʼ, which require not only identical lexical meaning, but an ontology for which telic events are the sole basis in the derivation of aspect pairs. 2022-06-01T12:07:41Z 2022-06-01T12:07:41Z 2017 chapter ONIX_20220601_9788864536989_52 2612-7679 9788864536989 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/55869 rus Biblioteca di Studi Slavistici application/pdf Attribution 4.0 International 20556.pdf https://books.fupress.com/doi/capitoli/978-88-6453-698-9_15 Firenze University Press 10.36253/978-88-6453-698-9.15 10.36253/978-88-6453-698-9.15 bf65d21a-78e5-4ba2-983a-dbfa90962870 9788864536989 39 35 Florence open access
