Our research indicates that fiscal sources for the County of Flanders can produce reliable data on the distribution of income during the late medieval period. The analysis of these data shows that important local and regional differences can be observed in the distribution of rural income. To a large extent, these local variations can be explained by differences in access to local economic resources. Our results, however, also indicate that substantial regional differences in access to rural resources can produce similar income distributions. 2022-06-01T12:11:40Z 2022-06-01T12:11:40Z 2020 chapter ONIX_20220601_9788855180535_214 9788855180535 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/56031 eng Datini Studies in Economic History application/pdf Attribution 4.0 International 14216.pdf https://books.fupress.com/doi/capitoli/9788855180535_16 Firenze University Press 10.36253/978-88-5518-053-5.16 10.36253/978-88-5518-053-5.16 bf65d21a-78e5-4ba2-983a-dbfa90962870 9788855180535 1 25 Florence open access
