Through the allegorical path, focused on the shepherd’s environment, Boccaccio first defines a model of power embodied by the king-shepherd. Moreover, he tries to convert his readers, as well as himself, into a better way of life related to Vergil’s one and close to the eremitic model. By doing so, he accomplishes himself as a poeta-theologus, as exposed by Dante. 2022-06-01T12:25:05Z 2022-06-01T12:25:05Z 2021 chapter ONIX_20220601_9788855185103_650 2704-5919 9788855185103 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/56465 fre Studi e saggi application/pdf Attribution 4.0 International 29690.pdf https://books.fupress.com/doi/capitoli/978-88-5518-510-3_8 Firenze University Press 10.36253/978-88-5518-510-3.08 10.36253/978-88-5518-510-3.08 bf65d21a-78e5-4ba2-983a-dbfa90962870 9788855185103 236 14 Florence open access
