These are public sources mostly enlisting properties and benefits; they serve the purpose of re-possessing the privileges taken from the princes themselves over the previous century. The paper will therefore focus not only on the management and character of the seigneurial landholdings but also on the reconstruction of both the local networks of power exerted on the population and the local political system. It will shed new light on the still debated historiographical issue centered on the seigneurial authority in southern Italy by assessing its local rooting and pervasiveness since the 14th century. 2022-06-01T12:26:19Z 2022-06-01T12:26:19Z 2021 chapter ONIX_20220601_9788855183017_699 2704-6079 9788855183017 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/56514 ita Reti Medievali E-Book application/pdf Attribution 4.0 International 18082.pdf https://books.fupress.com/doi/capitoli/978-88-5518-301-7_6 Firenze University Press 10.36253/978-88-5518-301-7.06 10.36253/978-88-5518-301-7.06 bf65d21a-78e5-4ba2-983a-dbfa90962870 9788855183017 38 79 Florence open access |
