The aim is to highlight the variety of building interventions by communities and to show how these actions are effective keys to interpreting the political dynamics on many different levels: the community economics, the development of collective identity, the manipulation of community and territorial structures, the definition of a ceremonial space, the relations with the lordship. In the Maira valley a community history is outlined, full of tensions and divergent thrusts, between the convergence around the political and ceremonial center of Dronero and the alternative polarities constituted by the numerous settlements scattered in the surrounding basin. 2022-06-01T12:26:52Z 2022-06-01T12:26:52Z 2021 chapter ONIX_20220601_9788855184274_703 2704-6079 9788855184274 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/56519 ita Reti Medievali E-Book application/pdf Attribution 4.0 International 22760.pdf https://books.fupress.com/doi/capitoli/978-88-5518-427-4_2 Firenze University Press 10.36253/978-88-5518-427-4.02 10.36253/978-88-5518-427-4.02 bf65d21a-78e5-4ba2-983a-dbfa90962870 9788855184274 39 18 Florence open access
