The book gives voice to the migrants and seeks to highlight their own experiences and understandings of the labour market integration process, in the first years of immigration. It adopts a critical, qualitative perspective but does not remain ethnographic. The book rather refers the migrants’ own voice and experience to their own expert knowledge of the policy and socio-economic context that is navigated. Each chapter brings into dialogue the migrant’s intersubjective experiences with the relevant policies and practices, as well as with the relevant stakeholders, whether local government, national services, civil society or migrant organisations. The book concludes with relevant critical insights as to how labour market integration is lived on the ground and on what migrants ‘do’ with labour market policies rather than on what labour market policies ‘do’ to or for migrants. 2022-12-13T12:36:39Z 2022-12-13T12:36:39Z 2023 book ONIX_20221213_9783031140099_26 9783031140099 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/60161 eng IMISCOE Research Series application/pdf n/a 978-3-031-14009-9.pdf https://link.springer.com/978-3-031-14009-9 Springer Nature Springer 10.1007/978-3-031-14009-9 10.1007/978-3-031-14009-9 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 1c5d59d7-cc54-496b-9a1b-79f62e32852c 9783031140099 Springer 231 Cham [...] open access
