It was attended by about 60 scientists and researchers from 13 countries, including, besides Europe, Iran, Israel, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Japan, Russian Federation and the USA. In an international scenario shaken by the uncertainties of the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine, dialogue and scientific collaboration are confirmed to be precious tools to enhance nuclear safety, security and non-proliferation. The urgency to open peace discussions in Ukraine was emphasised by all participants, and the belief that science can make an essential contribution to peace construction was reaffirmed. Current challenges (some new, such as autonomous weapons and the use of artificial intelligence for war purposes) are discussed and attempts made to identify possible solutions and future improvements, including in the field of sustainable energy development. 2023-09-13T19:45:54Z 2023-09-13T19:45:54Z 2023 book ONIX_20230913_9783031297083_10 9783031297083 9783031297076 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/76227 eng Springer Proceedings in Physics application/pdf n/a 978-3-031-29708-3.pdf https://link.springer.com/978-3-031-29708-3 Springer Nature Springer International Publishing 10.1007/978-3-031-29708-3 10.1007/978-3-031-29708-3 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 77b91ee8-0174-4622-aa5b-81f403d8f674 9783031297083 9783031297076 Springer International Publishing 291 212 Cham [...] Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei open access
