Its content is framed within one country to better examine the research issues within the influence of contextual factors. This book investigates how English can contribute to the development of students' employability capitals, particularly in the aspects of human capital, social capital, cultural capital, identity capital, and psychological capital. It presents employers' and employees’ perspectives of how and why English is increasingly important for career development. This book is a collection of discussions and viewpoints from teachers, students, and other stakeholders like employers, graduates, and course coordinators on current practices and their proposed improvements to prepare students for their future education, work and life. Based on empirical evidence, this book calls for repositioning English language education within the employability agenda to elevate its status and increase stakeholders' engagement. This book contributes to current debates on advancing the effectiveness of English language education in non-English speaking countries, as a response to internationalization and globalization. 2023-10-13T15:45:02Z 2023-10-13T15:45:02Z 2024 book ONIX_20231013_9789819943388_57 9789819943388 9789819943371 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/76786 eng Global Vietnam: Across Time, Space and Community application/pdf n/a 978-981-99-4338-8.pdf https://link.springer.com/978-981-99-4338-8 Springer Nature Springer Nature Singapore 10.1007/978-981-99-4338-8 10.1007/978-981-99-4338-8 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 1e85f8af-86a3-4244-84f3-860ab687102d 9789819943388 9789819943371 Springer Nature Singapore 380 Singapore [...] Universiti Brunei Darussalam UBD open access
