Buddhism was one major factor in this exchange: for the first time the multi-layered relationships between the trans-regional Buddhist traditions (Chinese, Indian, Tibetan) and those based on local Buddhist cultures (Khotanese, Uyghur, Tangut) will be explored in a systematic way. The second volume Buddhism in Central Asia II—Practice and Rituals, Visual and Materials Transfer based on the mid-project conference held on September 16th–18th, 2019, at CERES, Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany) focuses on two of the six thematic topics addressed by the project, namely on "practices and rituals", exploring material culture in religious context such as mandalas and talismans, as well as “visual and material transfer”, including shared iconographies and the spread of ‘Khotanese’ themes. 2024-01-11T11:33:12Z 2024-01-11T11:33:12Z 2022 book ONIX_20240111_9789004508446_3 9789004508446 9789004507937 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/86566 eng application/pdf n/a 9789004508446.pdf https://brill.com/display/title/61718 Brill 10.1163/9789004508446 10.1163/9789004508446 af16fd4b-42a1-46ed-82e8-c5e880252026 178e65b9-dd53-4922-b85c-0aaa74fce079 9789004508446 9789004507937 European Research Council (ERC) 725519 Dynamics in Buddhist Networks in Eastern Central Asia, 6th-14th Centuries H2020 European Research Council H2020 Excellent Science - European Research Council open access
