It examines the representation and perception of key themes broadcast by radio and associated with women’s empowerment in the three countries. Each chapter contextualises a specific topic in the country and then explores discrete aspects of radio’s provision. The topics covered in the chapters are women’s political engagement; women and finances; women and life within marriage; inheritance; women’s involvement in radio structures; and radio, internally displaced women, and trauma. Given the social, economic and political vulnerability and deteriorating security situation of the three countries, this book provides a timely and meaningful contribution to acknowledging and understanding the vital role of radio in women’s empowerment. 2024-01-15T16:45:10Z 2024-01-15T16:45:10Z 2024 book ONIX_20240115_9783031359859_10 9783031359859 9783031359842 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/86876 eng Palgrave Studies in Communication for Social Change application/pdf n/a 978-3-031-35985-9.pdf https://link.springer.com/978-3-031-35985-9 Springer Nature Palgrave Macmillan 10.1007/978-3-031-35985-9 10.1007/978-3-031-35985-9 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 93353d70-ab88-4e8a-b6b7-59f0225a137c 9783031359859 9783031359842 Palgrave Macmillan 239 Cham [...] open access
