This book looks into the different ways in which time is deployed in value projects in Fiji and Finland, not just to point out the various possible ways of allocating value to time, but to show that European clock-time, just like its Oceanic counterparts, requires a great deal of conceptual work to make it serve as vehicle of valuation. The cases analysed in the book range from considerations of rank and conspicuous leisure in Fiji to Finnish timebanking, taxation, and university auditing. 2024-03-18T12:39:28Z 2024-03-18T12:39:28Z 2023 book 9780197267486 9780191995651 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/88621 eng British Acdemy Monographs application/pdf Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International 9780197267486.pdf https://global.oup.com/academic/product/comparing-the-worth-of-the-while-in-fiji-and-finland-9780197267486 Oxford University Press b9501915-cdee-4f2a-8030-9c0b187854b2 1f9d9f09-ced0-41ef-ba7d-e669f14238d1 9780197267486 9780191995651 142 Oxford British Academy The British Academy open access
