Supported by her son, Prince Aleksander Sobieski, the queen dowager created at her Roman residence in Palazzo Zuccari one of Rome’s most important opera theatres. This is the first monograph about Sobieska’s music patronage. The book describes works by such eminent artists as Carlo S. Capece, Filippo Juvarra, and Domenico Scarlatti, along with the atmosphere of Rome of that time, the sociopolitical role of the festa, and the music theatre genres it employed. 2024-04-10T08:27:32Z 2024-04-10T08:27:32Z 2021 book ONIX_20240410_9783631844274_9 9783631844274 9783631846438 9783631846445 9783631842577 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89767 eng Eastern European Studies in Musicology application/pdf n/a 9783631844274.pdf https://www.peterlang.com/downloadpdf/title/62118 Peter Lang International Academic Publishers 10.3726/b17872 10.3726/b17872 e927e604-2954-4bf6-826b-d5ecb47c6555 9783631844274 9783631846438 9783631846445 9783631842577 22 424 Bern open access
