The residents of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania were to determine their future governance. Piłsudski placed the Civic Management outside the structures of the Polish government, while his opponents from the Polish nationalist wing wanted to suborn it to the government in Warsaw. Based on hitherto unknown archival documents, the author describes the reasons for the failure of Piłsudski’s federation idea, both on the Polish side, as well as errors by Belarusian leaders and the policy of the Lithuanian state. 2024-04-10T08:27:43Z 2024-04-10T08:27:43Z 2022 book ONIX_20240410_9783631878682_16 9783631878682 9783631878729 9783631878736 9783631866221 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/89774 eng Polish Studies – Transdisciplinary Perspectives application/pdf n/a 9783631878682.pdf https://www.peterlang.com/downloadpdf/title/63189 Peter Lang International Academic Publishers 10.3726/b19743 10.3726/b19743 e927e604-2954-4bf6-826b-d5ecb47c6555 9783631878682 9783631878729 9783631878736 9783631866221 40 584 Bern open access
