It includes historical and anthropological recapitulation of the phenomenon, but it also tries to describe cultural mechanisms characteristic in the so-called border situations, on a specific example. An important part of the description is an attempt to capture the phenomenon of local Polish-Livonian identity, enshrined in the literary and scientific projects of Polish Livonians. They form a misguided, unsuccessful representation the land in the discourse of Polish humanities. The book treats Polish Livonia in two ways: as an example of a dispersed, multi-cultural Polish borderland identity and as a unique phenomenon, grown up on the outskirts of the old Republic of Poland. 2024-05-13T13:26:19Z 2024-05-13T13:26:19Z 2013 book ONIX_20240513_9783653032420_15 9783653032420 9783631636466 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/90170 eng Polish Studies – Transdisciplinary Perspectives application/pdf n/a 9783653032420.pdf https://www.peterlang.com/downloadpdf/title/15607 Peter Lang International Academic Publishers 10.3726/978-3-653-03242-0 10.3726/978-3-653-03242-0 e927e604-2954-4bf6-826b-d5ecb47c6555 9783653032420 9783631636466 4 408 Bern open access
