It provides new evidence and analysis from research on three cities in Austria, Germany and the UK: Vienna, Frankfurt and Cardiff. The book explores strategies and services of municipal authorities towards precarious migrants and their cooperation with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in service provision. It focuses on healthcare, education, housing and access to advice; and particular attention is given to the situation of women. The book develops the concept of precarity in relation to migration status, and of horizontal governance arrangements within municipal authorities. It explores the tension between exclusion and inclusion of migrants who have limited rights of access to welfare services, and contributes evidence on the factors shaping municipal policy making, as well as on the framing of rationales for providing access to essential services. 2024-05-23T07:47:23Z 2024-05-23T07:47:23Z 2024 book ONIX_20240523_9783031558511_22 9783031558511 9783031558504 https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/90430 eng IMISCOE Research Series application/pdf n/a 978-3-031-55851-1.pdf https://link.springer.com/978-3-031-55851-1 Springer Nature Springer Nature Switzerland 10.1007/978-3-031-55851-1 10.1007/978-3-031-55851-1 6c6992af-b843-4f46-859c-f6e9998e40d5 3aff21d4-4890-4bfe-9f83-11d37e9d293a 9783031558511 9783031558504 Springer Nature Switzerland 212 Cham [...] open access
