This important chapter includes both didactic and mythological epic, which flourished in Late Antiquity. Representative texts are chosen from the Halieutics of Oppian, On human initiatives of Maximus as well as from the Posthomerica of Quintus of Smyrna and the Dionysiaca of Nonnus.
